Alaskan Jack’s new salmon dumplings to hit shelves later this year

The Alaskan Jack's Seafood Corporation has rolled out a new line of salmon dumpling products as an extension of its Frontier Harvest Alaskan Jack's brand.

Each dumpling consists of wild caught pink salmon blended with a variety of other all-natural, GMO-free ingredients, according to the company. The new dumpling products, which come in a 10-ounce tray that holds approximately 16 dumplings, include: salmon and chive, which blends salmon with onion, sour cream and chives; salmon florentine, which includes a filling of pink salmon, sour cream, onion and spinach; and salmon with lemon and dill, which combines salmon with dill, sour cream and lemon juice.

“We are excited to launch the Frontier Harvest Alaskan Jack’s salmon dumpling products,” said Steven Chen, CEO and president of Alaskan Jack’s Seafood Corporation, in a news release. “These offerings continue our strategy to introduce new, creative products that taste great, are on-trend and successfully meet both consumer and retailer needs. This also continues our charge to grow and build ongoing excitement in the value-added frozen seafood category.”

The dumplings can be consumed plain or with sauces such as Alfredo, marinara, soy or butter, said company representatives. They can also be transformed into pot stickers after being boiled by sautéing and browning both sides in a skillet with cooking oil. The products are expected to be introduced to retailers for sale starting in the fall of 2016, with a suggested retail price of USD 5.99 (EUR 5.30).

“New product launches have been critical in our success to promote repeat purchases and drive additional sales into the category” Chen said. “These items continue to focus on the key attributes of all Frontier Harvest Alaskan Jack’s products: wild-caught seafood indigenous to the pristine waters of the North Pacific; good-for-you, healthy ingredients (all-natural, GMO free); unique flavor profiles; a tremendous consumer value proposition; ease of preparation; and, best-in-class graphics and packaging.”

Alaskan Jack’s products are carried by retailers including Wal-Mart, Ahold and Albertsons. The company came out on top at the 2015 Seafood Excellence Awards with its wild Alaska keta salmon, and announced its Frontier Harvest Alaskan Jack’s Gold line at the beginning of 2016.
