Salmon farming giant AquaChile has opened up its fifth retail store in its South American home country, part of a company initiative to sell more of its fish locally.
The store opened 1 December, and is located in Puerto Varas, in the central area of the country. It offers customers Atlantic and coho salmon, as well as trout and tilapia. It joins other AquaChile salmon retail stores in Santiago, Pucón, Puerto Montt and Aysén.
"We want to continue to bring our premium products closer to local as well as international consumers. Puerto Varas is a very touristy city with people visiting from all over Chile and the world,” AquaChile general manager Agustín Ugalde said.
