Bristol Seafood to debut new retail line, My Fish Fix, in Boston at SENA19

Portland, Maine-based seafood supplier Bristol Seafood will be debuting its new retail line, My Fish Fix, at the upcoming Seafood Expo North America event, taking place in Boston, Massachusetts from 17 to 19 March.

The “simple-to-cook” line features high-quality seafood along with seasonings, sauces, compound butters, and marinades “to give the home cook a convenient way to achieve restaurant results,” Bristol said in a press release. My Fish Fix allows consumers to prepare high-quality seafood in three easy steps, effectively diffusing some of the trepidation home cooks face when approaching the category, explained Iréne Moon, Bristol’s vice president of marketing.

"Today our products are requested by many of the best chefs in the country. We are excited to launch My Fish Fix to enable home chefs to achieve that restaurant experience simply from the comfort of their home kitchens," Moon said. “Consumers want to put more seafood in their diet, but many are intimidated by fish. My Fish Fix makes it a little bit easier to prepare seafood at home.”

Retailers who introduce the product line in 2019 will receive a rate of sale guarantee, according to the company. More information related to the line will be available to SENA19 attendees at Booth #305, it added.

In addition to expanding its brand offerings, Bristol has also recently grown its sales organization with the hiring of two new business development managers – Mark Fratiello, who will cover the U.S. Northeast, and John Riffle, covering the South and Southeast United States.

Fratiello hails most recently from seafood wholesale company The Town Dock, where he was responsible for sales for the past 10 years, while Riffle comes to Bristol from Clear Springs Foods, where he served as the regional sales manager.

“Our customers choose Bristol because we help them grow their seafood program, not only by providing a premium product on a consistent basis, but also because our Business Development Managers are supporting and training their frontline in the field. I am very pleased to add such terrific talent with years of experience in the seafood industry to our expanding sales team,” said Dana Bartholomew, Bristol’s vice president of sales, regarding the company’s newest team members.

Founded in 1992, Bristol Seafood specializes in the sale of its select core species, including scallops, long-line caught Norwegian haddock, Alaskan cod, and wild Maine mussels. The company became the first to earn a Fair Trade certification for seafood harvested in U.S. waters in 2017. It was named “Business of the Year” by the City of Portland, Maine in 2017 as well.
