Hilo, Hawaii, U.S.A.-based seafood distributor CMU & Associates, which operates such seafood brands as Hilo Fish Company, Kona Fish Company, and Tropic Fish, has officially launched Crescent City Seafoods, a new frozen seafood supplier.
Crescent City will be led by Butch Vidrine, who has worked at such companies as Sysco and Great American Seafood, among other firms, and is coming out of retirement to serve as the firm's managing director.
"I am extremely pleased to be partnering with Ricardo A. Baeza (CEO), Francisco J. Baeza (CFO), and Eddie Corvalan (Managing Partner) ... as well as Butch Vidrine in introducing a new seafood concept to the U.S.,” CMU & Associates Founder and Chairman Charlie Umamoto said.
Vidrine said the job was “an opportunity to work with a talented team to provide quality seafood that not only meets the needs of our customers but also upholds the highest standards in the industry.”
Crescent City will be the exclusive distributor of the Iceburg brand, utilizing a direct sourcing model that will aim to bring down prices while giving Crescent a high degree of quality control. In a release about the news, the company said that its new leadership team “leverages decades of experience to prioritze traceability, sustainability, and customer satisfaction in every product."
