Giant Food adds cook-in-bag seafood products
Giant Food is debuting a private label cook-in-bag line of meal solutions that include both meat and seafood entrees.
The Landover, Maryland-based operator of 164 grocery stores joins other grocery chains offering similar solutions, such as Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based The Giant Company and Lakeland, Florida-based Publix.
Giant Food’s new line includes 14 different meat and seafood entrees that come pre-seasoned or marinated in an oven-ready bag, “keeping preparation and clean up to a minimum,” the retailer said in a press release.
Seafood cook-in-bag offerings include: Mediterranean cod, lemon dill scallops, Chesapeake Bay-style shrimp, and bourbon salmon.
"Our cook-in-bag products offer flavorful and simple meal solutions, particularly at a time when many are experiencing cooking fatigue at home," Giant Food Chief Merchandising Officer and Senior Vice President Tonya Herring said. "These dishes allow families to explore new recipes that can be paired with any favorite side dishes with minimal preparation which helps to save them time so they can get back to what matters most."
The line will also be available on GiantFood.com and the Giant Food mobile app.
