Growing US restaurant franchise commits to sourcing Louisiana crawfish, shrimp

Louisiana, U.S.A.-based restaurant chain Another Broken Egg Café has partnered with the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board to spread the word regarding the company’s commitment to using Louisiana seafood in its expanding menu in locations nationwide.

The restaurant chain, which consists of 65 locations across the United States – with 80 more currently in development – will focus on selling Louisiana shrimp and crawfish via an updated menu. The partnership and initiative was announced during the grand opening of the latest Broken Egg location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with Stuart Ottinger, president of the Double R Restaurant Group, which owns the franchise on the new downtown location and is the brand’s largest franchisee group, remarking on the importance of Louisiana seafood to the overall mission at the heart of the Broken Egg franchise.

“We’re proud to announce this incredible new partnership between Louisiana seafood and the Another Broken Egg Cafe family, while opening our newest Baton Rouge location,” Ottinger said. “It’s not often we get to say that commuters, downtown residents and Louisiana fishermen all along the coast will enjoy this new location. We are proud to represent this commitment to sell Louisiana seafood nationwide with this new initiative.”

Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser of Louisiana also applauded the restaurant chain’s initiative.

“It is always an economic victory for Louisiana when a local company grows nationwide, and still chooses to expand its own operations and brand within our state’s borders. It’s downright incredible when that same company commits to supporting a critical local industry through its national supply chain,” said Nungesser at the Baton Rouge grand opening. “Another Broken Egg Cafe’s decision to expand here will create 40 new jobs in the heart of Baton Rouge, while its dedication to Louisiana seafood will help promote the health benefits and flavor of the delicious seafood coming from our waters. I know that residents and tourists visiting Baton Rouge will enjoy this great dining experience with the best tasting, local ingredients.”

Another Broken Egg customers can purchase unique takes on classic southern food, including the Bananas Foster Pancakes, Shrimp ‘n Grits and a Cajun Louisiana Crawfish Skillet, each prepared with Louisiana-sourced shrimp and crawfish. The chain’s menu also offers a Salmon Power Bowl and a Smoked Salmon Omelet.

Another Broken Egg restaurants can be found in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
