Stop & Shop rolls out value-added shrimp, salmon products

Stop & Shop is launching several new value-added shrimp and salmon apps and meals for National Seafood Month.

The Quincy, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-based grocery chain, owned by Ahold Delhaize, unveiled eight Taste of Inspiration seafood products in stores and online.

The shrimp apps and meals include: Taste of Inspirations Coconut Shrimp, which is jumbo shrimp hand-breaded in crispy coconut flakes and served with a Thai chili dipping sauce; Taste of Inspirations ButterflyShrimp, jumbo shrimp hand-breaded in crispy panko breading; and Taste of Inspirations Shrimp Tempura, 12-count jumbo shrimp coated with crispy tempura batter, served with a sweet soy dipping sauce.

The retailer also launched three farmed salmon products: Taste of Inspirations Gravlax Style Smoked Atlantic Salmon, which is re-sliced, gravlax-style smoked Atlantic salmon with dill and lemon zest; Taste of Inspirations Peppercorn Season Smoked Atlantic Salmon: hot smoked with cracked pepper seasoning; and Taste of Inspirations Smoked Atlantic Salmon, which is hot-smoked using a blend of natural hardwoods and fruitwoods.

Its lone wild salmon rollout is Taste of Inspirations Wild Sockeye Smoked Salmon: pre-sliced, cold-smoked salmon in a blend of natural hardwoods and fruitwoods.

In late August, the retailer also rolled out a Taste of Inspirations Black Angus beef line as part of a co-branding partnership with the 1855 Black Angus beef brand.

And, last year, it added deli meat offerings to its Taste of Inspirations lineup, which also includes appetizers, sauces, marinades, frozen treats, and other products.
