While numerous restaurant chains across the United States offer special seafood dishes for Lent, Long John Silver’s, Captain D’s, and Quiznos are among the first to announce promotions.
Quick-service seafood chain Long John Silver’s is offering several specials throughout the Lenten season, including all-you-can-eat fried fish, chicken, and sides starting at USD 7.99 (EUR 7.36). The offer, running from 17 February through 25 February, is coupled “with an exciting sea-prise” at participating locations, LJS said in a press release.
Throughout Lent, LJS customers can also get “2 for USD 6.00 (EUR 5.53) Mix & Match,” which allows diners to mix and match dishes such as five-piece fried shrimp, two crab cakes, two-piece wild, fried Alaska pollock, and three-piece chicken tenders.
"We're excited to kick off the Lenten season with so many seafood options for our guests," LJS Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Mattingly said.
On Sundays throughout Lent, LJS is offering USD 10 (EUR 9.22) Sea-Shares or All You Can Eat Sundays starting at USD 7.99 (EUR 7.36).
In addition, on Mondays, customers can “bring in those wannabe fish sandwich coupons, and exchange them for our delicious wild-caught golden-fried Alaska Pollock Sandwich or Fish and Fries for just USD 1.99 (EUR 1.83),” LJS said.
Also for the Lenten holiday, sandwich chain Quiznos is bringing back its Lobster & Seafood Sub sandwich and is rolling out a new sandwich: the Cajun Lobster Sub.
The specials run from 11 February through 4 May.
“We are excited to bring back a sandwich that our customers look forward to with eager anticipation each year – for a decade now,” said Sheila Zimmerman, vice president of marketing at REGO Restaurant Group, which owns Quiznos, in a press release. “The new Cajun Lobster Sub brings a perfect blend of new flavors to a Quiznos staple that consumers have come to know and love over the last ten years.”
The Lobster Classic Sandwich features a lobster and seafood salad that is topped with shredded lettuce. Quiznos new Cajun Lobster Sub includes Cajun seasoned lobster and seafood salad that is topped with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and house-made Cajun aioli made with Cholula hot sauce.
Captain D’s is offering Double Dozen Shrimp, a lightly battered new shrimp, in three variations: Fish and Dozen shrimp, featuring a piece of its Signature Batter Dipped Fish and a dozen shrimp, two sides, and Hush Puppies; Double Dozen Shrimp, which includes 24 shrimp, two sides, and Hush Puppies; and Double Down, which includes 24 pieces of shrimp, two pieces of Signature Batter Dipped Fish, two sides, and Hush Puppies.
