“Wild Shrimp Chef of the Year” title on the line

Chefs, seafood suppliers, buyers, and others can nominate their favorite chef to be named as the “Wild American Shrimp Chef of the Year” by 29 September.

The American Shrimp Processors Association, the sponsor of the contest, will announce the winning chef on 20 October. The winner, who reigns for one year, will receive prizes that include USD 500 (EUR 416.75) for the food charity of his or her choice, a custom-designed plaque, and an official proclamation.

Nominees should meet the following criteria: 1) demonstrate ways they’ve advocated and/or used Gulf or wild-caught shrimp through social media, TV appearances, public relations and other media opportunities, 2) submit two or more recipes from their restaurant or food establishment showcasing wild American shrimp, 3) describe their philanthropic efforts within their community and food industry, and 4) showcase any awards won for culinary excellence, especially in the area of seafood.

Culinary professionals can be self-nominated, or submitted by their peers, publicist, favorite customers, fans, and others. Submit nominations at http://www.americanshrimp.com/chef-of-the-year/ or email them to [email protected].

The nominations will be reviewed by seafood industry representatives and the Wild American Shrimp marketing team.
