Major American restaurant chains are pulling out all the stops to attract shoppers to buy their seafood dishes, merchandise, and gift cards this holiday season.
Orlando, Florida-based Red Lobster launched its first pop-up online merchandise store on 26 November. The pop-up site allows shoppers to “stock up on all the best gifts for the seafood overs in their lives,” the restaurant chain said in a press release.
Merchandise in the pop-up shop includes new limited-edition Cheddar Bay Biscuit “Ugly” Holiday Sweaters, Cheddar Bay Biscuit Fanny Packs, and t-shirts.
Red Lobster is also offering free delivery from 20 November through 5 December when guests order directly from www.redlobster.com. Furthermore, it is touting 10 percent off Red Lobster gift cards of USD 100 (EUR 91) or more when purchased on its web site from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
Meanwhile, Olive Garden is bringing back its Oven Baked Pastas, which were launched last December, including a new shrimp dish.
New dishes this year include Smoked Mozzarella Shrimp Rigatoni and Four Meat Italian Mac & Cheese. Returning Oven Baked Pastas include: Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo.
Oven Baked Pastas are baked and served in Terracotta casserole dishes. “These seasonal entrées include options for everyone, including indulgent cheese-filled pastas, with grilled chicken and more than half of a pound of shrimp,” Olive Garden said in a press release.
In addition, Olive Garden added Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara to its catering menu, “just in time for holiday hosting,” a spokesperson told SeafoodSource.
