Alaska cod fishery undergoes key annual audit

The Alaska cod fishery has successfully completed its third annual surveillance audit for the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) certification, announced the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) on 12 October.

The fishery was initially certified in April 2013, and has undergone the most recent audit as a means to document and monitor any changes made since the previous assessment. Updated progress for the certification, which names the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation, Inc. as its client, will be shared by ASMI by both email channels and on the Alaska Seafood website [ http://www.alaskaseafood.org/rfm-certification/ ].

Interested stakeholders can submit comments and request more information regarding the certification and audit. Instructions on how to do so can be found here: http://www.alaskaseafood.org/rfm-certification/stakeholder-involvement/
