Chilean salmon farming giant AquaChile acquired processor Salmones Chaicas for US 15.2 million (EUR 14.2 million), according to documents filed with the Chilean government.
AquaChile acquired all of Salmones Chaicas’ assets, consisting of a recirculation fish farm for the production of Atlantic salmon broodstock, eggs and smolt, according to a document filed with Chile’s Superintendent of Securities and Insurance (SVS), Economia y Negocias reported.
Salmones Chaicas was founded in 2009, when the Chilean salmon industry was hit by the ISA virus.
