Icelandic seafood company HB Grandi has launched its new trawler Akurey AK-10 at the Celiktrans shipyard, close to Istanbul, Turkey.
To be skippered by Eirikur Jonsson, Akurey is the second of three trawlers being built for HB Grandi by Celiktrans that are designed to land fresh catches.
Akurey’s construction commenced last winter and is scheduled for delivery early next year. The third newbuild in the series will follow in the second half of 2017.
The shipyard also previously delivered HB Grandi’s pelagic vessels Venus and Vikingur.
