NECS announces partnership with Schoneman on traceability solution for food processors, distributors

Connecticut, U.S.A.- based enterprise research planning software company NECS has announced a partnership with Ohio-based Schoneman, the makers of the VistaTrac traceability system, to allow customers to integrate the technology of both companies into one system.

VistaTrac provides real-time inventory, plant-floor data collection, raw materials tracking, yield reporting and full traceability to the food processors. Customers using VistaTrac will now be able to integrate their data systems with NECS’ “entrée” software used by food distributors, allowing for smoother data sharing and compatibility between food processors and distributors, according to a press release from the company.

“We believe the integration between entrée and VistaTrac will be a perfect fit for customers that need integrated processing features from an established software company with a large base of food processing clients,” NECS President Chris Anatra said.

Benefits include reducing labor costs, eliminating mistakes and improving efficiencies across the enterprise, the companies said in their announcement.

“VistaTrac customers who have outgrown their off-the-shelf accounting package will now have complete integration into a true ERP software system designed for the unique needs of foodservice distributors including meat, produce, cheese, seafood, poultry and dairy,” the release said.

Schoneman President Steve Schoneman said the new partnership would provide his company’s customers with a migration path to an ERP system designed for their industry.

“NECS has a great product and we are happy with this new partnership. We are very excited about the opportunity to provide our plant floor solutions to NECS customers,” he said.
