Seafood software supplier names new CEO

Seafood software solutions supplier Maritech has appointed Janne T. Morstøl as its new CEO, effective 1 February.

Morstøl comes to the company after serving as chief strategy officer at Nevion, a global company providing products and solutions for media transport, and as co-founder and COO/CFO of T-VIPS, which merged with Nevion in 2012. With her expertise and experience in developing global technology enterprises, Morstøl is a good fit to carry forth Maritech’s ambitions, the software company said.

“Maritech has strong growth ambitions and we are convinced Janne is the right person to lead the company through the next phase. She is a highly impressive leader known for her collaborative leadership style and for building high performance teams and companies from early start-up stage to global presence,” Maritech Chairman of the Boardette Kamsvaag said in a news release. “Building infrastructure to support a rapidly expanding technology company is no small task. Janne’s expertise will ensure we have the foundation, tools, and processes in place to support our rapid global growth. Her ability to connect and unify vision, people and ideas sets her apart as a leader.”

The wealth of potential offered by Maritech attracted Morstøl, who has served as a board member for several listed Norwegian companies, to the company, she said.

“I joined Maritech because I strongly believe the opportunities that lie ahead are enormous, not just for Maritech but also for the global seafood sector that we serve,” said Morstøl. “I’ve been following Maritech’s success for some time and I am focused on accelerating the innovation that our customers have come to rely on as a strategic partner in their continued success and profitability. At a time when our industry is on the cusp of digitalization and more technological transformation than we’ve ever encountered, I couldn’t be more confident in our ability to reach our goals to help shape our customers’ growth, or more honored to lead this great company.”

Morstøl’s appointment comes at a time of rapid growth for Maritech, which recently acquired of Wise Dynamics Ltd. in Canada and opened a new U.S.-based office in Seattle, Washington.
