The U.S.-based seafood processor once known as Handy International has changed its corporate name to Handy Seafood Incorporated to both leverage the strength of the Handy brand and to better reflect the company’s core business.
Company executives say the new title showcases the enterprise’s established legacy, which has spanned for more than 120 years.
“While our company name is changing, all core elements of the organization will remain the same. Handy Seafood Incorporated will continue to be a family business that provides our customers with delicious food products and we will continue to place emphasis on innovation and our high quality standards," said Handy Seafood Incorporated President and CEO Todd Conway in a prepared statement.
The name change has gone into immediate effect, with all current and future business correspondences and transactions being conducted under the new title.
Handy Seafood has undergone a number of additional changes as of late. As of 5 July, Conway expanded his role as president and chief operating officer of the company to include chief executive officer duties as well. Former CEO Terry Conway, who purchased Handy in 1981, remains the company’s executive chairman; the company continues to be owned and operated by the Conway family.
“I’m so proud of Todd and his accomplishments within the business over the years,” said Terry Conway. “His leadership will continue to help Handy grow as a premier seafood company.”
