Trident scores another major US government contract

Fresh off being awarded a major pollock contract from the United States government, Trident was awarded a nearly USD 3 million (EUR 2.7 million) contract to supply frozen wild salmon to the government as well.

The United States Department of Agriculture just purchased 324,000 pounds of wild salmon fillets for more than USD 2.9 million (EUR 2.6 million) from Trident for child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for fiscal year 2019.

Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trident will deliver the salmon fillets to locations in Nampa, Idaho, and Kansas City, Missouri, from 16 May through 30 December, 2019.

Trident also received the majority of a nearly USD 28.1 million (EUR 25 million) purchase of Alaska pollock products for child nutrition and other government food programs, announced by the USDA in mid-March.

Trident will supply the majority of the pollock at nearly USD 21 million (EUR 18.5 million), while Lunenberg, Nova Scotia, Canada-based High Liner Foods will supply around USD 3.8 million (EUR 3.3 million) worth, and Channel Fish Processing Co. in Braintree, Massachusetts, U.S.A. will supply around USD 3.3 million (EUR 2.9 million) worth of Alaska pollock.
