Description:

Workforce development, recruitment, and retention are some of the main challenges faced by many seafood companies. In their 2022 recommendations to NOAA for improving workforce development, the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee detailed the importance of utilizing a diversity of skills and people in the seafood workforce to foster adaptation and innovation. It has been shown that diverse workforces attract top talent, reduce employee turnover, and gender diversity in leadership is linked to higher profitability.

Seafood and Gender Equality (SAGE) promotes gender equality in the global seafood sector, leading to a more resilient industry, thriving communities, and abundant resources for future generations. SAGE’s flagship Gender Equality Dialogues (GED) program promotes innovation and workforce development in the sector by co-creating space for industry leaders to develop actionable solutions to address gender inequalities.

Join Becca Williams, SAGE’s Director of Gender Strategies, as she shares the key takeaways from the recently completed pilot cohort of the GED and discusses how industry leaders came together to co-create gender transformative solutions to the most pressing workforce challenges.

By the end of the webinar, you’ll learn about the importance of promoting gender equality within your company and what you can do to build and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce.
