Construction of sturgeon hatchery under regional control

Khabarovsk Region’s Government discussed progress of construction Nicholaevskiy Sturgeon Hatchery in 2012.

Construction of the sturgeon hatchery on the Amur river in the Nicholaevskiy district of Khabarovsk region is carried out since 2009 under the “Improving the efficiency and development of the resource potential of the fisheries industry in 2009-2012” federal program.

According to the Natural Resources Ministry’s press service, during 2009-2010 all the necessary construction documents were developed and approved, and land was chosen for the future facility. On 2 August 2011 construction works began.

In 2012 building of the facility will be continued, so in some years Russian fishing companies will be able to increase catches of this truly delicious fish.
