Seafood Expo Global starts off strong

The world’s largest trade show for the seafood industry, Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, opened its doors on Tuesday, 26 April, with 1,664 exhibiting companies from 80 countries – including 73 national and regional pavilions — eager to greet thousands of registered attendees.

The event, which is produced by Diversified Communications (the parent company of SeafoodSource) and takes place in Brussels, Belgium, has seen buyers from more than 120 countries register to attend in 2016 following a series of attacks targeting the Belgian capital, including those from Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom. This year’s installment of the expo also features new national and regional pavilions for Finland, Russia, Scotland and Uruguay; and new exhibiting countries including Barbados, Seychelles, Tanzania and Uganda.

“With 35,862m2 of exhibit space and thousands of visitors continuing to register, the exposition reinforces its position as the industry world’s largest marketplace and meeting place,” said Liz Plizga, Group Vice President for Diversified Communications, in a prepared statement.

“It is necessary that we provide business continuity to seafood suppliers and buyers looking to reach their business goals in the global market,” Plizga added.
