Redesigned newsletter is here

It’s been my goal since the launch of SeafoodSource in March 2009 to bring seafood professionals worldwide the news they need to make informed buying and selling decisions. With the help of an insightful staff and contributing editors, I feel like we’ve accomplished that over the past year-and-a-half.

But our commitment to deliver the news promptly and efficiently doesn’t end there — today marks the debut of the redesigned SeafoodSource newsletter. In response to reader feedback, we’ve made the newsletter easier to navigate. The headlines now link directly to the story page, instead of the home page. On left side of the story page is a list of the headlines that appear on the home page, so that it’s easier for you to find the headlines you’re looking for.

We added a new “Popular Headlines” list next to the “Yesterday’s Headlines” list at the bottom of the newsletter. “Popular Headlines” feature the most-read stories of the past week, so you can see what stories are trending.

You’ll also find more headlines under the “Today’s Headlines” collection. In addition to SeafoodSource-produced stories, commentaries and market reports, all of the seafood-related stories from mainstream media outlets posted to SeafoodSource in the past 24 hours are included in the newsletter — these are stories that our competitors charge you to view as part of a subscription.

I’d also like to bring your attention to a few of the features SeafoodSource introduced this year, accessible through the newsletter. To view SeafoodSource in Spanish and Chinese, click on the “Read Spanish version” and “Read Chinese version” links at the top of the newsletter. Each week, select SeafoodSource stories are translated in Spanish and Chinese, available to view for free.

SeafoodSource also launched a premium-membership option this year. Premium membership, which costs only USD 95 per year, gives members access to market reports, audio, video and transcriptions from the conference programs at the International Boston Seafood Show and European Seafood Exposition and in-depth descriptions of new seafood products, among other features.

I hope that the new SeafoodSource newsletter makes it that much easier for you to find the stories you’re looking for. Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions by e-mailing me at [email protected].
