AgriMarine harvests first chinook crop

AgriMarine on Thursday announced that it began to harvest its first crop of chinook salmon at its Chinese farm.

The harvest will continue through the summer and fall, with the fish being sold through distributors to hotels and restaurants, according to the British Columbia-based aquaculture technology company. The fish, raised via floating solid-wall containment technology, are grown to market size in 14 to 16 months.

The company also recently added two tanks scheduled for delivery later this summer to increase production capacity for 2012.
