Bell Aquaculture US feed mill opens

Bell Aquaculture on 1 July opened its Bell Farms Aqua Feed mill in Indiana.

The mill is the last major step toward the company’s completion of a vertically integrated aquaculture farm. Feeds from the mill will be tailored to the nutritional, biological and physiological needs of specific species at key points in the life cycle of the fish. Bell Farms is expected to produce about 2 million pounds of feed per month sourcing over half of ingredients locally.

“A long time dream has been realized here today. I am very proud of our team, our partners and our community for working together to make this dream a reality and take this critical step toward providing a solution to our coming food deficit," Norman McCowan, Bell Aquaculture president & CEO, said at the grand opening event.

The facility was approved in April.
