China’s production of feed for aquaculture by a significant margin in the first half of 2017, according to statistics from the China Feed Industry Association.
The association’s recently released statistics revealed that feed production for freshwater aquaculture feed rose 7.4 percent to 1.44 million metric tons (MT) in the first half of 2017, while production of feed for saltwater mariculture production rose 10.6 percent to 506,000 MT.
Freshwater aquaculture feed accounted for 10.4 percent of China’s overall feed production in the first six months, with mariculture accounting for 3.7 percent.
Feed for pigs and for broiler production accounted for 47.2 and 30.8 percent of feed production, respectively.
