ISA confirmed at two Canada sites

Infectious Salmon Anemia has been confirmed at two aquaculture operations on the south coast of the province. One case was at a Cooke Aquaculture site in Manuel’s Arm, affecting two cages, while the other case involves 21 cages at a Grey Aquaculture site at Pass My Can Island.

Executive Director of the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association, Cyr Couturier, says Grey Aquaculture has been particularly hard hit with three separate cases of ISA this year alone.
