Mainstream farms change names to Cermaq

Cermaq is streamlining the names of its divisions, renaming its farming companies previously called Mainstream to bear the Cermaq name.

The move follows the sale of EWOS, the company's feed division, which it completed on 31 October. The renaming, according to Cermaq, "will be implemented in the near future."

The company has salmon and trout farming operations in Norway, Chile and Canada. Many of its farms operate under the name Mainstream, but the change will unify the farms under one brand.

"Cermaq is a well-established name, and a common name will strengthen our global operations," said CEO Jon Hindar.
