Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd., one of the world's largest seafood companies, plans to spend $2.72 million by year's end to triple production of farmed bluefin tuna, Asia Pulse reported today.
The Japanese company's Nakatani Suisan Co. subsidiary raises tuna at three fish farms in Japan and will add three more large fish cages to its Kagoshima Prefecture farm, bringing the total to 18 cages. The number of feeding boats will also be increased.
