American Seafoods hires new chief financial officer

Seattle, Washington-based company American Seafoods has named Kevin McMenimen as its new chief financial officer, effective starting on 1 November.

McMenimen, who served as an aircraft mechanic for the United States Air Force and the Minnesota Air National Guard, has worked for several multinational corporations, including Pillsbury and General Mills, over the course of his career so far. He has also spent time working for smaller entrepreneurial, private-equity owned food businesses such as Michael Foods and Flagstone Foods, a USD 700 million (EUR 595 million) producer of healthy snack foods acquired by Tree House Foods during McMenimen’s tenure as the company’s CFO.

“I am thrilled to have Kevin join our team as CFO,” American Seafoods CEO Mikel Durham said. “In his career, Kevin has distinguished himself as a professional with a proven track record of partnering with operations, sales, and manufacturing to deliver great results.”

McMenimen has a B.S.B degree from the University of Minnesota and a MBA from University of St. Thomas. Before coming on board the American Seafoods team, he most recently served as CFO of Performance Optics, a global manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses, where he was in charge of a major acquisition of a Korean competitor that boosted the company’s revenues by 60 percent.

“I am extremely happy to join the great team at American Seafoods,” McMenimen said. “The company’s solid financial position, its proven leadership and the professionalism and commitment of its employees made the position extremely attractive. I look forward to working with the company’s leadership and its financial partners as we continue to supply healthy and sustainable seafood products to our customers around the world.”
