Eli Hollon joins Northern Wind; Antonios Chalaris leaves BioMar and joins Devenish

- On 1 August, New Bedford, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-based Northern Wind, a fresh and frozen scallop producer, appointed Eli Hollon (pictured) as senior director of quality assurance.

"We look forward to working with Eli and the proven expertise he brings to Northern Wind," Northern Wind Founder and Chairman Ken Melanson said in a release. "He [Eli] brings a wealth of QA and QC knowledge, and his leadership abilities and capabilities in developing new products bring a new dimension to Northern Wind’s management team. We continue to be in expansion mode, and Eli is an integral piece of moving the company forward.”

Hollon spent the past 15 months at Ren Seafoods as its director of food safety and quality assurance.

“I’m very excited to be joining Northern Wind; [its] reputation speaks for itself, and this new opportunity will only enhance my ability to do what I am passionate about – bringing safe, high-quality products to market in a timely manner,” Hollon said.

- Antonios Chalaris has joined Belfast, Northern Ireland-based international agriculture firm Devenish as its international aqua business development manager. According to Chalaris's LinkedIn profile, he began the position in February 2023.

Prior to joining Devenish, Chalaris worked for more than four years as a product manager at BioMar in Grangemouth, Scotland. He subsequently became a member of the board of directors for the European Aquaculture Society in September 2022.

- Jose Ricardo Casemiro has left Sao Paolo, Brazil-based tilapia producer GeneSeas after it recently declared bankruptcy. According to his LinkedIn, Casemiro worked with the company for five years as the general operations manager.

Effective July 2023, Casemiro has joined Sao Paolo-headquartered tilapia producer Tilabras as its industrial manager.
