Fortune Fish & Gourmet has opened a new fish-cutting facility in Union, New Jersey, U.S.A. to expand its services in the Northeast U.S.
Fortune said its new facility adds to its growing set of processing facilities, which include its 110,000-square-foot headquarters in Bensenville, Illinois. The company said the new expansion will allow it to supply both retailers and restaurants in the Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey markets with fresh custom-cut fish.
“We’re excited to continue to scale our business, if you’ll forgive the pun,” Fortune East Senior Vice President Jason Wagner said. “Our new cutting room will allow us to offer our chefs and retailers even more selection and personalization than they’ve already come to expect from us.”
The new facility will have a team of fish cutters working six days a week, cutting whole fresh fish daily for customers in the area.
“For more than 20 years, custom cutting has set us apart in this industry; bringing that expertise and that commitment with us as we grow has always been part of our vision,” Fortune CEO Sean O’Scannlain said. “With the fresh fish processing room opening in New Jersey, we can offer even more of our customers the freshest fish tailored to their needs.”
The new facility in the Northeast adds to the company’s existing presence in the region. Fortune acquired Boston Sword & Tuna, located in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2023 – which has continued to operate under its existing brand.
Fortune also acquired Union, New Jersey-based D’Artagnan in 2022, which helped expand its food distribution in the Northeastern U.S.
