Mowi, AKVA set up global frame agreement

Salmon producer Mowi has entered into a procurement agreement with AKVA Group for standard products, spare parts, and service assignments.

The agreement has a duration of four years, plus possible extensions. While it does not imply any exclusivity to AKVA, the aquaculture equipment supplier believes the negotiated terms provide the foundation for further trade between the two companies.

According to AKVA Sales Director for the Nordics Hans-Øyvind Sagen, it will make the procurement of goods and services from AKVA “more predictable, easy, and timesaving” for both parties. It also gives a good basis to further develop cooperation within other areas like project-based activities, he said.

“Pre-negotiated terms of agreement save us work and makes us able to respond faster. When both parties have good terms, you have a sound basis for increased activity,” Sagen said.

Mowi Procurement Manager Erik Kjær Mjøs said the agreement would strengthen the relationship between AKVA and Mowi, and benefit both parties.

“A close supplier is better equipped to understand what we need. We also believe that partners that have clear lines and are able to achieve a good dialogue, will cooperate well and achieve improvements and innovation for both parties,” he said.
