More time for certifier in MSC Russian pollock case

Late Thursday, independent adjudicator Michael Lodge posted an update regarding the proposed Marine Stewardship Council certification of the Russian Sea of Okhotsk pollock fishery.

Lodge said certification firm Intertek Moody Marine had requested an extension to provide a response to the 19 June remanding of portions of the pollock fishery’s assessment for further review.

“Have considered the representations made by the CAB (conformity assessment body) I have decided to extend the time for a response by a further 10 working days,” said Lodge.

“This means that a response to the remand must be received by 17 July. Following a response by the CAB, any party to the objection may make further written submissions on the matters specified in the remand or on the response no later than five days following the response by the CAB.”
