SFP launches FIP guide

The Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) has released a new guide for the seafood industry containing information on Fisheries Improvement Projects (FIP).

The guide, titled The Seafood Industry Guide to FIPs, talks about how to run a FIP, and offers examples of successful FIPs and links to other organizations with more details.

The SFP offers guidance on setting up an FIP on its own website, but offered the guide for those who want to work with established FIPs.

“We really believe that the seafood industry is in the best position to lead fishery improvement projects and we want to provide all the support that we can to help them do that,” said SFP’s Blake Lee-Harwood. “This guide is an easy introduction to the subject of FIPs and we hope it will inspire readers to get more engaged in improvement projects and start talking to their colleagues across the seafood supply chain.”
