Seafood is beneficial for pregnant women. According to new draft advice from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), pregnant women or women who might become pregnant or breastfeeding should eat a minimum of 8-12 ounces (2-3 servings) per week of fish that are lower in mercury to support fetal growth and brain and eye development. “The new FDA draft guidance for pregnant women to eat more seafood is important,” Cornish said.
