European importer and exporter Amacore is launching a frozen tuna product at Seafood Expo Global, held 21 through 23 April in Brussels, Belgium.
Fresh tuna is typically consumed within a few days of catch. The product, called -60 Superfrozen Tuna, is frozen within a couple minutes after catch and defrosted just before eating. Amacore is touting the product as perfect for sushi and sashimi and supplies -60 Superfrozen Tuna saku blocks and loins that are available year round.
Amacore is focusing on four other products while at SEG, including hamachi, scallops, black cod and Patagonian toothfish.
