U.K. grocery chain Asda is partnering with RangeMe to help its buyers source new products, including seafood.

Asda is the first of the big four grocery chains to join RangeMe since the platform launched in the U.K. last month.

RangeMe, a product discovery and sourcing platform, features more than 4,300 seafood products visible to 12,000 retailers currently using RangeMe.

“We’ve already received hundreds of product pitches from really exciting, emerging suppliers as a result of our partnership with RangeMe,” Asda Senior Director of Commercial Strategy Ben Smith said in a press release. “Through the launch of Asda’s incubator program, we hope to work with some of these suppliers to get their products onto the shelves in our stores.”

"New suppliers from all seafood categories are welcome to register on the RangeMe platform to gain visibility to their products by retailers across U.S., U.K., Benelux, and APAC,” a RangeMe spokesperson told SeafoodSource.

RangeMe helps retailers and their buying teams scale product sourcing efforts through streamlined submissions, discovery tools, and an industry standard pitch process, RangeMe said.

“Buyers can then filter searches to find brands and products that meet their exact sourcing needs, allowing them to seamlessly connect and collaborate with suppliers, and offering curated collections to help identify and understand category trends and emerging brands,” according to the company.
