BJ’s expands seafood line with fresh Norway salmon

BJ’s Wholesale Club is expanding its seafood assortment to include fresh farmed salmon fillets imported directly from Norway to meet its members growing interest for more healthy protein choices as well the USDA’s recommendation for more seafood consumption.

“When our members buy seafood from BJ’s, they can feel confident that it meets the greatest standards of freshness and sustainability,” said John Gorham, seafood buyer at BJ’s. “The Norwegian salmon industry is one of the highest quality areas for farmed salmon. Providing Chef’s Catch Brand Norwegian salmon fillets is another way we are delighting our Members with new, exciting and healthy seafood options in our clubs.”

The Westborough, Mass.-based club store will be introducing Chef’s Catch Brand salmon fillets that are expertly hand trimmed and under continuous seafood inspection by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Supplied by North Coast Seafoods of Boston, the salmon meets BJ’s sustainability requirements.

“We are thrilled to provide BJ’s Members with our Chef’s Catch Brand pre-packed salmon; the same exceptional quality consumers and many restaurant chefs have come to expect and trust for more than a half century,” said Norm Stavis, president and CEO of North Coast.

BJ's operates 207 membership warehouse clubs clubs and 121 gas stations in 15 eastern U.S. states.
