Cameron Mitchell Restaurants Opens New Chain

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants launched a new seafood chain, based on its Mitchell's Ocean Club concept. The first of five Ocean Prime locations opened last week in Troy, Mich. Four additional locations are set to open this year in Florida and Arizona.

The chain is being touted as a modern American supper club. Locations will highlight retro elements of a supper club combined with contemporary style and featuring private dining rooms, a cocktail lounge and piano bar.

"We are ready to grow the concept, and to introduce it in other markets with a name that is worthy of the premier menu and world-class dining environment that the restaurant offers," says Cameron Mitchell, president and founder of CMR. "Our commitment to providing the highest quality seafood, steaks and handcrafted cocktails in a sexy and sophisticated atmosphere will be an important addition to the fine dining landscapes in these new markets."

The launch comes about eight months after the company sold its Columbus Fish Market, Mitchell's Fish Market, Mitchell's Steakhouse and Cameron's Steakhouse concepts to Ruth's Chris Steak House for $94 million.

Columbus, Ohio-based Cameron Mitchell Restaurants operates 11 restaurants under seven brands.
