Clear Springs launches trout taco portions

Rainbow trout producer Clear Springs Foods has added a Whole Grain Citrus Sesame Trout Taco Portions to its line.

“It’s well known that fish tacos are becoming more and more popular, and we’re making them easy to serve by introducing perfectly shaped portions coasted in a crisp whole grain breading with a hint of citrus,” said Alan Kahn, Clear Springs VP of marketing. “They are also unique in the marketplace in that they are made with real Idaho rainbow trout, known for its delicate, mild flavor.”

The taco portions meet CN equivalents on 1 grains/bread serving and 1.5-ounce meat equivalents. By adding 0.5-ounce of shredded cheese, schools achieve 2-ounce meat equivalents.

The product is geared toward a number of types of operations including kiosks, quick casual and schools.

Clear Springs also announced last week the launch of a frozen fish stick product marketed toward children.
