Ivar’s celebrates Clam Chowder Day

In celebration of National Clam Chowder Day on 25 February, Ivar’s Seafood of Seattle is offering a buy-one-get-one-free cup of clam chowder at all 26 fast-casual restaurants.

“National Clam Chowder Day could very well be Ivar’s Customer Appreciation Day. Over the years, we’ve poured tens of millions of chowder for local guests, tourists, school groups and charitable organizations,” said Kirsten Wlaschin, director of marketing. “Ivar’s chowder symbolizes all that’s great about the Northwest and Puget Sound region. Whether you’re a loyalist or just trying our chowder for the first time, two cups of clam chowder will sure hit the spot.”

Ivar’s clam chowder is also available at foodservice cafeterias, corporate kitchens, West Coast retail outlets and club-store chains. It is also sold at some independent restaurants worldwide.

Ivar’s chowder has received numerous accolades, including the 2010 Chef’s and People’s Choice awards at the Alaska Symphony of Seafood. In 2008, it won the People’s Choice award at the Seattle Maritime Festival’s 12th Annual Chowder Cook-Off.

Last year, Ivar’s produced more than 9.6 million one-cup servings of chowder.
