The finalists of the National Fish & Chip Awards 2012 in the category for Best Foodservice Outlet serving Fish and Chips were announced on Wednesday.
WM Morrison’s PLC in Bradford, Greene King, Old English Inns in Bury St. Edmunds and Marston’s PLC of Wolverhampton were recognized as some of the best foodservice outlets serving fish and chips in the United Kingdom.
Businesses were judged on marketing, PR, training, general business practices and commercial awareness. Sponsored by Middleton Food Products, the award recognized the best outlet, group or chain with four or more outlets serving fish and chips. The award excludes fish-and-chip restaurants and takeaways.
“Middleton Food Products are proud to sponsor the Best Foodservice Outlet serving Fish and Chips award at this year’s ceremony,” said Peter Hill, Middleton Food Products chairman and award sponsor. “The Fish and Chip Awards are a superb way of celebrating the very best of our industry, and Middleton Food Products believe that encouraging and supporting all sectors producing our national dish can only promote the product. We have seen that healthy competition really helps to raise standards and that all the entrants in this award have shown skill and enthusiasm to produce an excellent product. We congratulate all the finalists in all the categories and look forward to a successful year for fish and chips.”
Last week, the finalists of the National Fish & Chip Awards 2012’s Good Catch Award for Sustainability were named.
