Seafood Prix d’Elite finalists announced

A total of 37 new seafood products, from companies representing 11 countries, were named finalists for this year’s Seafood Prix d’Elite new products competition, with the winner to be named on 21 April at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium.

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global is produced by Diversified Communications of Portland, Maine, USA.

This is the 15th anniversary of the competition that recognizes the best new seafood products developed for the European market. The award ceremony and reception will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 21 April in Auditorium 2000 at the Brussels Expo. 

In addition to the grand prizes for the best new retail product and best new foodservice product, five special awards will be presented for originality, convenience, health and nutrition, retail packaging and seafood product line.

The finalist products, selected from nearly 90 applications, are:

  • Frozen Raw King Crab Meat from FRESHPACK – France
  • Tuna Spread and Kiri Cheese for Kids from Guyader Gastronomie – France
  • Smoked Haddock & Salmon Melting Centre Fishcake from Joseph Robertson (Aberdeen) Limited – United Kingdom
  • ZIGMAS Dried Salmon Fillet Strips from JSC ICECO – Lithuania

The finalists’ products will be showcased at the Seafood Prix d’Elite stand No. 2501 in Hall 11 during the three-day show, the world’s largest seafood exposition, with more than 1,700 exhibitors and attendees from 150 countries.
