Shrimp Market Tabs Consultants to Bolster Chain’s Growth

Shrimp Market, a quick-service seafood chain based in Aventura, Fla., yesterday announced that it retained Synergy Restaurant Consultants to develop a fast-food concept for its Shrimp Market brand.

Synergy will develop the menu, operating systems and all training materials as well as a growth strategy for the brand, which will include 29 new store openings in 2009.

"Synergy is excited to partner with Shrimp Market and to bring the current Shrimp Market concept into fruition," said Synergy officials. "We have performed a thorough business operations assessment, and we are eager to work with Shrimp Market and to continue to provide guidance."

Shrimp Market CEO Solomon Finvarb is also the head of Cartagena Shrimp Co. of Cartagena, Columbia. The company also operates the U.S. wholesale subsidiary Caribco in Aventura.

The first Shrimp Market opened in the Aventura Mall in Miami in February 2007, and the concept has since grown to four locations in Florida, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
