Skuna Bay Salmon will be available in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana beginning Monday, 9 May, after the company struck a distribution deal with Louisiana Foods. The company also announced its salmon as used at the James Beard Awards dinner on 2 May in Chicago.
Skuna Bay founder Dave Mergle said he selected Louisiana Foods as the purveyor for the south-central United States for its “reputation for quality, sustainable sourcing and outstanding cold-chain.”
“It is exciting to be servicing the Texas market and seeing our craft-raised salmon utilized by the region’s top culinary experts,” Mergle said.
The Canadian salmon farming company now sells its salmon in 39 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces, and founder Dave Mergle said he is working to add distribution to the remainder of the U.S.
Skuna Bay is distributed in the Southwest U.S. by Santa Monica Seafood; by Fortune Fish in the Midwest; Samuel’s and Son Seafood in the Mid-Atlantic; Gotham Seafood in New York City; Seattle Fish in Colorado and Kansas; Euclid Fish in the Great Lakes region; Albion Fisheries in Western Canada; Ports Seafood in Northern California; Sierra Fish in Lake Tahoe; The Fish Guys Inc in Minnesota and the Dakotas; Ocean Beauty in Oregon; Pacific Seafood Group in the Pacific Northwest; North Star Seafood in Florida; Foley Fish in New England; Captain Marden’s in Boston; and now Louisiana Foods in the south-central U.S.
Its salmon is now served at more than 3,500 restaurants and boutique retailers across North America, the company said in a press release.
