Target adds Salty Girl Seafood’s products

Salty Girl Seafood announced on Monday, 26 March, that its products will be added to 250 SuperTarget stores in the United States.

Two of Salty Girl Seafood’s “Salmon Bites” products are now available at the Target stores in two flavors: Lemon and Sea Salt, and Black Beans and Corn. The product uses Alaska sockeye salmon, shaped into small bite-sized pieces for ease of consumption.

Target caught wind of the product through its Target Takeoff program, a consumer startup accelerator the company developed. The Salty Girl Seafood brand was picked as one of 10 to participate in the program.

“We are grateful for our Target Takeoff experience and are excited to expand our mission and grow our line into stores nationwide,” said Salty Girl Seafood Company co-founder Norah Eddy.

Eddy said the product was created out of a perceived need for better seafood options that appeal to children.

“In the age of cleaner ingredients, food transparency, and parents seeking healthy protein options for their kids, we thought to ourselves, ‘are breaded fish sticks the best we can do for our kids?’” she said. “As a new mom, not only do I care about the quality of food that goes in my daughter’s belly, but it also has to be easy to get on the dinner table. We made sure these Salmon Bites took the pain out of preparing a nutritious, delicious, whole food meal for the entire family.”

The product will be placed in the frozen seafood section of almost all 250 SuperTarget stores in the United States.
