Trident introduces new Alaska pollock burger at SENA15

American retail seafood company Trident Seafoods is introducing a new pollock burger product at Seafood Expo North America 2015.

Marketed under the name “Alaskan Pollock Burger,” the new line is similar to the company’s salmon burger first released 10 years ago. Trident’s own fishermen will catch the pollock used in the new burgers, which will be marketed to foodservice, club store and retail consumers in the United States.

“Research shows that consumers want more grilled fish options,” said John Salle, Trident VP of marketing and innovation, “and this is a convenient and simple way for home cooks and foodservice operators to mesh with the healthy lifestyle and evolving preferences of those who sit at the table or gather around the grill.”

The products will sell in individually quick frozen packages in 2.8-, 3.2- or 4-ounce portions.
