Who’s the next Tonnino Tuna Chef Ambassador?

U.S. gourmet tuna brand Tonnino Tuna on Tuesday launched a competition giving aspiring chefs a chance to win a USD 5,000 prize to put toward continuing their culinary education and a year’s supply of Tonnino Tuna.

The Tonnino Tuna Chef Challenge allows contestants to show off their culinary skills on camera for a chance to be named the Tonnino Tuna Chef Ambassador.

To participate, aspiring chefs are asked to create an innovative and original recipe that showcase tuna in a delicious and interesting way. Participants must upload a two-minute video of themselves executing their dish in a fun and engaging manner to the competition’s Web site.

Voting takes place through 1 October by website visitors who “like” their favorite recipes. The three video recipes with the most “likes” will be evaluated by a panel of judges from Tonnino in the final round of the competition. Evaluations will be based on camera presence, entertainment, originality and creativity.

The winner will be announced within two weeks of the contest’s conclusion.

“We’re really excited to provide a platform for bright, new talent to show off their creativity and culinary talents,” said Ximena Jimenez, Tonnino country manager. “At Tonnino, we pride ourselves on being the finest in the industry and are looking for someone who has the same dedication to outstanding quality and excellence. Our new Chef Ambassador will help us demonstrate how Tonnino Tuna is not only healthy and delicious, but can also star in a variety of easy and versatile dishes.”
