Whole Foods Promotes Seafood for Holidays

Whole Foods Market is promoting numerous seafood items to cost- and time-conscious consumers planning to entertain during the holidays.

"Whole Foods has a number of delicious, easy-to-prepare seafood solutions to help hosts spend more time with their families and less time in the kitchen during the holiday season," says David Pilat, Whole Foods' global seafood coordinator. "We are excited to offer these high-quality items at a great value."

The items include Alaska golden king crab legs caught in the Bering Sea by FV Early Dawn and pre-cooked in fresh water; Changing Seas® cold-smoked salmon farmed in Norway and available thin-sliced in 4-, 8- and 16-ounce packages; jumbo Atlantic sea scallops harvested off Nantucket and processed without any artificial ingredients; and frozen Whole Catch™ bacon-wrapped scallops and shrimp (the scallops are caught in New England and the Mid-Atlantic and the shrimp is farmed in Thailand).

The promotion also includes several recipes and preparations and serving tips.

Whole Foods is the nation's largest natural-foods retailer, with more than 275 stores in 37 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Canada and the United Kingdom.
