Young’s teams up with popular TV host in new campaign targeting mothers

United Kingdom-based Young’s Seafood Limited has joined forces with popular TV presenter Ruth Langsford in an initiative aimed at helping busy families prepare fish-focused dinners.

Langsford – best known for her work on QVC and other TV programs including “This Morning,” “Gift Wrapped,” and “How the Other Half Lives” – appears in a series of film shorts with Young’s chef Serge Nollent, demonstrating how to use the company’s seafood products in inspirational recipes fit for the whole family. Among the meals featured in the demonstrative videos is a fish-and-chips recipe using Young’s Chip Shop Cod Fillets with homemade chips, curry sauce and minted mushy peas. Langsford and Nollent also show how to prepare a “posh fish-finger sandwich” with Young’s Gastro Tempura Battered Chunky Cod Fish Fingers, and a innovative summer dinner using Young’s Simply Breaded Cod Fillets paired with a fresh tomato and fennel salad.

The videos will be available to view across social media channels, with mothers being the primary demographic Young’s is hoping to appeal to.

“I’m a busy working mum and know the pressure there is to put something tasty on the table that everyone will enjoy,” Langsford said. “Young’s products are great for this, and I’ll definitely be taking these recipes home with me – they’re delicious.”

Jason Manley, Head of Frozen Brand at Young’s Seafood Limited, said his company was excited to be working with the TV icon.

‘‘We want to inspire more people to love fish, so it’s great to be working with Ruth, who represents busy working Mums, to give them a helping hand in making quick, tasty family meals,’’ Manley said.
