Rosh Haayin, Israel-based ECOshrimp, a subsidiary of recirculating aquaculture system-specialist AquaMaof, is claiming to have developed a turnkey RAS solution allowing for successful land-based shrimp production.
The company said in a press release it is now offering “a cutting-edge sustainable and cost-effective solution, as well as ongoing service and support, to enable successful production of fresh, tasty, and healthy shrimp” that do not require the application of chemicals or antibiotics.
ECOshrimp said it is building its first industrial facility in Israel and has established partnerships to develop commercial farms in Europe and the United States, and that it has partnered with poultry and livestock farming infrastructure firm Agrotop to integrate its technology, engineering, and construction methods into its shrimp-farming concept.
“By teaming with Agrotop, which has completed complicated projects in difficult climate zones all over the world, including in the U.A.E, both companies feel very confident with the advantages of the new tailored solution,” it said.
The company will have a booth at VIV MEA 2021, taking place in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. between 23 and 25 November, 2021.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to present our new integrated solution for shrimp production at VIV MEA and meet face-to-face, after the long COVID intermission, with the local agriculture and food-tech industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors, whom are all keen to promote food security in the UAE through advanced technological projects,” ECOshrimp Marketing Vice President Shelly Lotan said. “This will also enable us to introduce our collaboration with Agrotop as part of our strategy to provide turnkey solutions for protein production.”
